We recognise the constraints facing statutory agencies and are committed to working with health and social care partnerships to meet the needs of vulnerable groups, within identified budgets, providing rapid personalised responses to the changing needs of the people we work for.
As Wheatley Group’s care arm we have a key strategic role within the Group in shaping and delivering the Group’s care strategic priorities.
We work with a diverse range of people with care and support needs including:
- individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- learning disabilities
- addiction issues
- mental health conditions
- suffering alcohol-related brain damage
- and vulnerable young people.
We provide care and support services mainly to commissioning Local Authorities as well as benefiting the wider Group by providing care and support services to our social landlord partners within the Group.
Our bases and services are mainly concentrated in Glasgow, where we deliver the majority of our services.
We are regulated by the Care Inspectorate, who are responsible for inspecting, and formally grading, the services provided by all registered care providers and are responsible to the Ministers of the Scottish Government.
The Self-directed Support policy agenda has led to the home care and housing support markets having sub-segments, where services can be procured by individuals and families, Local Authorities or a combination of both.
We have a well established reputation with our customers and stakeholders as a trusted provider. We continually refine our offering based on regularly feedback from our key stakeholders, in particular Local Authorities and the people we work for.
The depth and breadth of services we can offer makes us particularly attractive to Local Authority commissioners, as we can provide a joined up service (unlike smaller niche providers). This is more efficient for commissioners and more effective for the people we work for and their carers.
